Category 3 water carries everything the pipe carried. Extraction is the easy part; drying the structure and sanitising it is the job.
Sewage backup and flood water are classified as Category 3 under IICRC S500: grossly contaminated, carrying bacteria, viruses and everything else the system was moving. It is not a wet floor, it is a biological hazard.
The failure mode with water damage is always the same. Someone extracts the standing water, the surface looks dry, and six weeks later there is mould in the wall cavity. Drying the structure properly is what prevents that.

The water has gone. Do I still need anyone?
Almost certainly. Standing water disappearing does not mean the structure is dry, and with sewage it does not mean the area is safe. Both need addressing or you get mould, odour and a much larger bill in two months.
How long does drying take?
Typically three to five days with equipment running, longer for dense materials or a large affected area. We take moisture readings daily and stop when the readings say to stop, not when the calendar does.
Will insurance cover it?
Sudden and accidental water damage such as a burst pipe or a backup is usually covered. Gradual leaks and rising ground water often are not. We document thoroughly either way, which is what makes the difference on a marginal claim.
