Suicide Cleanup

Handled quietly, thoroughly and without anyone having to explain themselves. We have been doing this for families across Maryland for twenty years.
Service photo

There is no version of this day that is manageable, and no reason anyone in the family should be the one holding the bucket. The police leave, the medical examiner leaves, and the room stays as it was. Somebody has to deal with it and it should not be you.

We arrive in an unmarked vehicle. We do not need you to walk us through it, look at anything, or describe what happened. Point at a door and we will take it from there.

What the job includes

  • Discreet arrival, plain vehicles, no company branding of any kind
  • Full containment before work begins, so nothing spreads into the rest of the home
  • Complete removal of biological material, including behind and beneath surfaces
  • Structural remediation where fluids reached subfloor or wall cavity
  • Personal effects cleaned and returned wherever that is possible
  • Coordination with police, medical examiner and funeral director
  • The claim opened and handled with your insurer on your behalf

How we work

  • You call

A trained technician answers, not an answering service. We ask six questions, and if you only know two of them that is enough for us to start moving.

  • We arrive

Unmarked vehicles and plain clothing on approach. Containment goes up before anything is touched.

  • We remediate

Source removal first, then structural cleaning, hospital grade disinfection and odour treatment, then verification testing.

  • We hand it back

A certificate of decontamination, a waste manifest where applicable, and a space you can use again.

Most families pay nothing. We open the claim with your carrier, submit the documentation and argue it where it needs arguing. If you are not covered, you get a written price before we start.

Common questions

Suicide Cleanup: what people ask us

I cannot go back in the house. Is that a problem?

Not at all, and it is extremely common. We can work from a key or a lockbox, or with a neighbour, relative or property manager present. Many of the families we work with never enter the room again and that is entirely their right.

Are you going to ask me what happened?

Only what we need to work safely: roughly where, roughly when, and whether anyone else is in the building. Nothing else. You do not owe us the story.

Is this covered by insurance?

Usually yes, under homeowners or renters cover. Maryland residents may also be eligible through the Victim Compensation Program. We open the claim and deal with the adjuster so nobody in the family has to have that conversation.

Can you come today?

Yes, once the scene has been released. Call any hour and a technician will answer. If we cannot be there quickly we will tell you honestly rather than leave you waiting.

If something has happened, stop reading and call.

A trained technician answers at any hour, from Frederick. There is nothing you need to prepare and nothing you need to explain.
